Description: SONICAKE Expression Pedal Vexpress is a passive volume/expression pedal for those people who think that a full-size, expression pedal may be a little heavy, and simply took too much space on the pedal board.
True analog circuit design combines 2 functions in 1 unit, a passive volume and an expression pedal.
Vexpress can automatically detect and grab the output (EXP or VOL) objective. Smooth taper responds to various parameters with maximum precision. Used as a volume pedal, input jack in, output jack out, as usual. Used as an expression pedal, leave the input jack unconnected, and connect the output jack to the device with a stereo 1/4" cable.
An extremely compact miniature size saves quite some space on your crowded pedal board.
Working without battery or pedal power supply, it can be used in extensive range with guitar, bass and other musical instruments.Made of hard plastic, lightweight casing, but yet very robust and well-built.
Works like a charm as volume pedal. Little bit glitchy as expression pedal. Perfect for a crowded pedalboard.

It's small. It's cheap. It's brown. ...But not in a turd-like manner. It's not like there's a lump of poo on my pedal board; this is much more than that. It's an inexpensive, small, passive potentiometer you control with your foot. You can use it to attenuate (but not boost) your overall volume, or you can use it to control parameters on some pedals. E.g. I've used it to control the EQD Avalanche Run.
This gets five stars not because it's "the best" of the four expression pedals I have, but because it's the best value in a passive volume/expression pedal. I don't expect this to stand up to years of abuse, but I don't plan to abuse it, so it might very well last my lifetime, unless modern science catches up to the challenges of entropy, gravity, and their increasingly annoying effects on my creaky-ass body, making me live an absurdly long time. ...But I digress.
This pedal is almost identical to another one I have. It's orange, made by Valeton, which I found out is made by the same company as Sonicake, hence the similarities. The other two pedals I have are more expensive: The DOD mini expression pedal, which feels better to the feet and seems more durable, despite its internal plastic gears, and the full-sized Moog expression pedal. The latter two have more expression pedal options, but both lack native volume control. ...So the Sonicake and Valeton have a leg up in that regard.
So, that's why this is a five star pedal. BROWN!

I have small feet, I wear a size 8 shoe, I had high hopes for this pedal, but it is just too small, and the throw is too short to get it exactly where I wanted it. If I didnt get my foot in just the right spot, sometimes I couldnt get it to move at all. Another problem I had was that when I took my foot off the pedal the volume level would change from where I wanted to leave it. Very frustrating. I got this to replace an Ernie Ball Jr. Volume pedal, because I was having trouble adjusting the strings mechanism correctly, I guess I will have to go back to that. Perhaps I will take it to a shop somewhere and have it done. It seems way harder than the YouTube videos make it look. Its too bad because I loved the little guy right out the box. The graphics, and build quality are excellent. Perhaps if I wasnt so used to the other pedal, I could have made it work.

Just received it today. Tried to set it up with the Zoom G5n and had issues at first. Didn't know that it only works with a speaker cable. I was just about to give up but figured it out. Hopefully this will help someone else.
Pedal does the job. It's pretty tiny. Definitely smaller than I thought. But the size is great for packing it away and travel. Have not used it live yet, just for practice, but is works well.
