Fix Devices Stuck Updating on Windows 11
We are aware that some Sonicake devices may get stuck on “Updating/Restoring in progress – Please don’t shut down” when performing firmware updates, NAM/IR imports, or effects editing on Windows 11. This is caused by recent Windows 11 updates affecting MIDI communication.
To resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:
1. Connect your device
Use a USB-C data cable to connect your Sonicake device to your Windows 11 computer and power it on.
2. Open Device Manager
Click the Search icon (magnifying glass) on the taskbar, or press Win + S.
Type Device Manager and open it from the search results.
3. Locate your Sonicake device
Expand Sound, video and game controllers and find your device (e.g., Smart Box, Pocket Master, or other Sonicake devices).
4. Update the driver
Right-click your device and select Update driver.
5. Browse drivers manually
Select "Browse my computer for drivers."
6. Pick from a list
Click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer."
7. Select USB Audio Device
From the list, choose USB Audio Device, then click Next to complete the installation.
8. Reconnect and update firmware
Open the Sonicake Manager software, reconnect your device, and update to the latest firmware.
After these steps, your device should work properly on Windows 11.
Note: This is a temporary workaround while we continue working with Microsoft to fully resolve Windows 11 MIDI issues.
