Description: Black Hammer is a multi effects pedal. But you can also see it as:
A Distortion Pedal That heavy hi-gain metal distortion is the power engine of Black Hammer! We thought that it can only do metalcore stuff like Killswitch Engage or thrash stuff like Slayer. But that 3-band EQ can get you any heavy tone you want from Black Sabbath to Van Halen, to Pantera, to Slipknot, to Bring Me The Horizon, to Periphery and Meshuggah. Bonus! Black Hammer comes with a fast and responsive noise gate, to further tame the unnecessary noise while retaining the dynamics of your playing. And that boost is gonna give you another kick in the volume level when you launch into those epic shreddings.
A Delay Pedal To make it quick and simple, and avoid using those confusing words like "luscious", "natural", let's put it this way: The delay is analog-voicing. It runs on digital algorithms, but they sound analog. Find any YouTube demos of Black Hammer, you'll know what I'm talking about.
A Chorus Pedal First thing first, it's a BBD-style chorus. Think about those Boss CE chorus. It sounds mild in depth, but so full of texture. If you wanna chase the 80's heavy metal tone, that chorus is definitely something you need. Think about that solo in Ozzy's "No More Tears". But if you prefer something more contemporary. This chorus will help in that process by broadening up the sonic landscape of your playing.
For Gigs & Studios The pedal is built like a tank. Heavy-duty metal casing. Well constructed. LED knobs indicating the warking state of the pedal, which would make it easy for you to gig in a dark venue. Or if you wanna record some heavy stuff, that hi-gain part would definitely have no problem serving as a preamp. Just put some IR after it. You are good to metal.
Amazing pedal, 2nd sonicake multieffects pedal I got worth every penny, might build a pedal board with nothing but sonicake stuff.

Great stuff, really nice sounding and sturdy. The only thing missing is a cabinet simulation, that would make it perfect.

Awesome little multi effect pedal, almost like a flyrig.
All effects sound great, noise gate is a great addition, solid build.

Great pedal, well built and super portable. Fun to play with good for the studio as well as gigs.
Massimiliano P.
incredible quality of sound, the gain section is really wonderful, powerful, with fat and loudy sound; I really love it and the noise gate is a plus; perfect delay section with 800ms max time;

Sounds great, play it live at local gigs, and even record with it. Simple light, no big elaborate pedal board needed for the band i play with. Works great.

If it had a speaker simulator it would be 5 stars all the way... great tool for just plugging into your effects loop of the amp or into a cab simulator!
Great delay and the chorus is fine!

The Black Hammer is the third multi pedal released in the Sonicbar series from Sonicake. The great thing about these pedals is that they are small, very affordable, and easy to throw in a backpack and take to a gig. The Rockstage was designed for the 80s arena rock experience, and the Twiggy Blues was of course designed for a more vintage and fuzzy blues tone. As you might have guessed the Black Hammer is designed for players that want a heavy tone...a very heavy tone. This things definitely delivers! The distortion has three EQ controls along with the gain and volume controls. It has a very thick sound similar to a Mesa Boogie. I was very pleased to see that they added a noise reduction knob that is engaged when you step on the gain. That is very helpful when using these kind of high distortion levels. The boost switch sends the gain over the edge, which is great for singing sustain on your solos. The black hammer contains a great chorus sound with three knobs (as opposed to only 2 on the Rockstage). There is also a very clear delay with three knobs. I have had it for two weeks now and I am still having fun experimenting with all the effects and tweaking the EQ and gain to match each of my guitars. This is a crazy deal for only $100. I love all three of my Sonicbars and it's fun to switch between them for different styles of music. I look forward to the next one in the series.

The Sonicake Sonicbar Black Hammer multi effects pedal features a Delay, Chorus, Hi-Gain and Boost sections all built into one housing.
With a simple setup consisting of an output jack, input jack and a 9V power supply (which is included in the package) the Black Hammer is one huge powerhouse stuffed into a 10 x 2 pedal enclosure.
The Delay section is pretty basic, but delivers a great tone. You can adjust the Mix. Regen and Time settings for either quick delays or set them to repeat forever. I found the Delay section to be quite clear and articulate, as my playing style consists of long, ambient delay passages with clean and distorted settings.
The Chorus is lush and thick, which makes clean chords and slow passages sound amazing. Coupled with the Delay, its very easy to get lost playing dreamy chords.
The Hi-Gain section is very versatile, but obviously meant for pulverizing tones. The built-in noise gate is a huge plus and helps clean up unwanted feedback. The Gain is very responsive to harmonics and every note cut through the mix.
The Boost knobs adds in some extra volume which kicks things up a bit with lead playing. I found that overall, the Hi-Gain section sounded best with a bit of Boost.
Overall, I can see this pedal being perfect to replace a touring rig or as a practice rig you keep in your gig bag. The small size makes it easy to carry, setup and leaves extra space on the stage floor for the heavy head banging the pedal will induce.
