Alex Price
As a multi-instrumentalist, composer/arranger, and audio engineer, Alex Price has enjoyed a growing career over the last decade. Primarily a studio musician and freelancer in the Pittsburgh region, he can also be found fronting the jazz-fusion group The Inner Urge and covering auxiliary strings with local songwriter Jason Gamble.
Alex frequently works as the fretted instrument specialist on call with a number of orchestras including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, and the Wheeling Symphony, in addition to occasional appearances with the Cleveland Orchestra and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
Recently, his music has been licensed for use in films such as Sustaining Grace and Ana Lily Amirpour’s thriller Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon. Prior to returning stateside, he spent several years working onboard cruise ships with Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruise Lines, eventually serving as the guitarist in the theater onboard the world-famous Cunard ocean liner, The Queen Mary 2.
As a musician, Alex is known for his proficiency across multiple genres, from rock and classical to jazz and gospel. A competent sight reader and house band musician, he has backed up acts such as Bernadette Peters, Wayne Newton, Sutton Foster, Sheena Easton, and Mandy Gonzalez.
