This is a low noise Muff circuit that sounds very much like a Russian EHX Big Muff circuit. I have tried a few of the Sonicake pedals, one or two I love, like Rude Mouse & Fazy Cream.
The pedal goes very high gain with a good, modern, big sound. Not unlike a Russian or Triangle muff, depending on how you set it.
I think this is the best affordable Fuzz on the market. The enclosure is heavyweight metal.
I have a high end board, but I always keep my rude mouse on there. I have a photo on the Rude mouse review.
This is another texture, heavy, but creamier, when I need more of a creamy,violin-like Gilmore thing, or an all of fuzz smashing Pumpins thing, I switch to my Fazy cream.
People can’t believe this little, plain black pedal can produce such an array of tone..
I play with it my $300 Meris Reverb and leads just soar like a violin. I might try the blue screamer next. I need a TS and I like the idea of having the inconspicuous, black mini pedal at the end of my rig, for leads.
. Sonicake is not like the other Chinese brands. They have great A&R, and always seem to be innovating. I’ve been following them for a couple of years now.
Maybe the enclosures can use a little better artwork, but what’s underneath is pure, sweet tone cake.
The Sonicake mini pedals are so great, but I’d love to volunteer to create some better artwork for them!
(Maybe some cool symbols/ icons, like JHS does?
Or cool cartoons, like “Animals Pedals”?)
Fazy Cream is a solid fuzz with a good low end,and a chunky, soft, creamy texture.
