Perry Frank
Ambient | Post-Rock | Psychedelic | Experimental
Perry Frank is the ambient, post-rock, and psychedelic music project of Sardinian musician Francesco Perra, founded in 2005 as a one-man band. His unique sound blends guitar, synth, tape loops, and immersive soundscapes, crafting imaginary, dreamlike atmospheres where melodies and arpeggios float timelessly. Influenced by artists such as William Basinski, Brian Eno, Boards of Canada, Fennesz, Tycho, Bonobo, Robin Guthrie, and Harold Budd, Perry Frank’s work bridges emotional depth and sonic exploration.
He has released six acclaimed albums:
Music to Disappear (Idealmusik, 2012),
The Neptune Sessions (Clubland Records, 2013),
Soundscape Box 1 (Tranquillo Records, 2014),
Reverie (Dynamo Tapes, 2020),
Selvascapes (Valley View Records, 2021), and
Nuit Ensemble (Valley View Records, 2022).
In 2014, he launched the ongoing Ambient Guitar Sessions project, a live performance series filmed in both indoor and outdoor scenic locations, showcasing his ethereal, guitar-driven compositions.
Between 2018 and 2021, Perry released several singles and the Sandstones EP, followed by collaborations with Valley View Records, producing works such as Landforms, Janas, Nebula, Earthshine, and Moonrise (with Spacecraft), Morning View, Siberia (with Astropilot), and Dreamscapes (with Brannan Lane).
In 2023, he began working with Ambient Soundscapes, releasing Outer Space (with Unusual Cosmic Process), Nebel, and Wake Up, We’re Dreaming (with Applefish). The following year, he continued expanding his catalog with Vanishing (with Crows Labyrinth, Mare Nostrum) and Shores of Silence (with We Dream of Eden, VVR).
Through his evolving body of work, Perry Frank continues to push the boundaries of ambient and cinematic music, transforming emotion and atmosphere into immersive sound worlds.
